Over the 2010 Christmas holiday, my brother and his family went Lake Tahoe. He was taking a walk through the woods with snow shoes. He stopped for a moment and saw this amazing view of the snow decorating the limbs of this fir tree. He took out his iPhone and snapped this photo and mailed it to me.

I remembered this picture when it came time to create this year’s card. I couldn’t come up with anything more impressive that what nature had created. I asked him if we could use it as our card and he gave his permission.

The card was printed in the same way as the last few years. It works well but it does take some of the technical challenge out of it. Of course there are many more people creating their own cards this way these days. We will just have to come up with something really special for next year…
