In the fall of 1993, we took a trip to Catskill Game Farm. We captured this tender moment while the kids were playing in the petting zoo. For those of you that have read our 2006 “Galasso Gazette,” you know that we visited there again this summer. Click on “the year in pictures” link for a follow up picture… This photo was taken with Kodak film and then processed into a Kodak PhotoCD, again a new technology at the time. Our new Mac was a Centra 660AV, complete with built-in CD drive, hard drive, 8-bit color monitor, and integrated audio-visual connections. This allowed the computer to scan and digitize video signals connected from camcorders, etc. much like the earlier separate device. This technology did not take off because of the large amounts of disk space needed for video and the very limited sizes available at the time. The system allowed for color photo work, and so our card took advantage of it. It was printed on an early ink-jet color printer from HP. It was time consuming, but the card was finally in color.
