We celebrated Thanksgiving in Copake for 41 years straight. This year we had a change of venue for a number of reasons. In all those years we never had an issue with snow–but would have had we tried in 2014!
The day before Thanksgiving, almost a foot of snow fell throughout the Berkshires on the border of Mass & NY. We went up to visit Co-house on Friday and found a winter wonderland. Becky took the photos featured on the card. Jay took the sunrise panorama with his iPhone 6 Saturday morning.
The image on the front of the card is a composite of three images assembled in Photoshop. Cutting out the background trees from the original image of the house turned out to be the most tedious part of the job. Dark branches against a dark sky! The sky shown was taken separately in a clear field at long exposure at wide angle. The sky was compressed and colors enhanced to show the starts more clearly as the background of the house.
